around the fire
full moon gatherings

(Page under development)

Free online gatherings for women offered by us to friends and connections. Inspired by the idea of coming together around the fire in community, these are co-created spaces to share, support and explore in a welcoming, neuro-friendly environment.

What will happen

Gathering around the fire

Coming together to open the circle.

  • You are invited to bring something to light - a candle, lamp, fairy lights etc. - that can remain lit throughout the gathering until the end.

  • You are also invited to bring an offering to the circle. This might be a physical or imaginary object, a quality (eg. passion, humour), a short quote, or something else.

Moon landing

Space to think about where you're at right now and what you feel curious about.

  • It might be helpful to have paper and pen to hand for this or art materials.

Lunar exploration

Ali and Vicky will each offer something inspired by the Snow Moon. We will then share words in the Chat, creating a communal poem.

  • This is likely to involve different kinds of creative interaction. It's all just an invite - only do what you're comfortable with.

  • Pen and paper or art materials might also be helpful for this.

Full Moon drumming

Drumming together - or clapping, dancing, using a shaker, whatever suits.

  • We'll all mute ourselves (Zoom isn't a fan of drumming), but this will still be a shared experience.

  • Don't worry if you don't have a drum. Use a saucepan and spoon, put rice in a pot to shake. Anything goes.

  • It is likely to last around ten minutes.

  • Again, it's all just an invite. If you just want to watch, rest or do something else, that's fine.

Moon-weaving

An open conversation growing out of the gathering.

  • If you prefer to contribute through Chat, no problem, or you can just listen if you like.

Farewell to the fire

Closing the circle.

How it is neuro-friendly

We are both neurodivergent so understand some of the challenges in online gatherings like this. We're actively exploring how to create more inclusive spaces.

  • You contribute just by coming. There is no demand to do anything. It's all just invitation.

  • While we'd like everyone to come together for the opening and closing of the circle, that's the only time. Otherwise, you can turn your camera off, move about, take a break.

  • You don't have to sit still staring at the screen. You can look away, stim, change position - whatever helps you regulate and feel comfortable.

  • No hierarchy - We're all important, we all matter. These circles are about coming together to co-create. Each time will be a unique collaborative event.

  • Co-regulation is a biggie for us. This has more impact on our nervous systems than any amount of meditation or breathwork.

  • You are welcome to get in touch before or after a circle to share any needs you might have or suggestions.

IMPORTANT: By the nature of this work, some powerful stuff may come up at times. While Ali is trained/experienced in offering emotional support and holding space, everyone is responsible for themselves during the gatherings and taking care of their own wellbeing.

Come, sisters, gather in circle.

Bring a seat of your choosing

– rocking chair, rug, stool;

a throne, if you’re so inclined.

We are all queens, sovereign to ourselves.

Show up as you like; nothing is fixed.

We’re curators of this liminal space.

Bring hills and streams. See,

how the tendrils of co-creation intertwine.

We’re rewilding our ground, rooting

in the rise of the possible. Unbury the moon.

We’ll have both day and night

in this collaborative realm.

Sit, sisters,

around this communal fire we’ve made.

Settle yourselves.

We’ll begin.

find your tribe;

the people to sit around the fire with,

as you are; nodding at your stories

because they know,

and you, in turn,

honouring their words

with your heart's warmth
